It’s good to at least see all that time was worth it and it’s refreshing to have a modern game come out that’s difficult and doesnt hold your hand at all. Those old-guard types of users are especially sad to see the IP’s chain yanked around so often when their own community has done an amazing job preserving the original games.ĭespite all that TL DR, even with that fatigue I’ve been having a blast with the Beta.
Night Dive are the new kids on the block and even though they’ve done a lot of good for SS, they’ve really overestimated themselves on their capabilities in regards to the remake. Add in smaller miscellaneous things like them promising to be at PC Gaming shows to show nothing new, and that the game will be out “Sooner than you think~” as if enough time hadn’t already passed, and Stephen Kick being petty about his unreleased SS remake on Twitter over Callisto Protocol, it’s very easy to see why lots of people, myself included, have felt fatigued. It doesnt help that their monthly kickstarter updates slowed to a crawl to the point that there’s always people in the comments who are surprised to find the game is still coming out and thought it was cancelled. Night Dive has really flip-flopped many times on what they wanted the remake to be which already didn’t fill people with confidence, and even after they decided on the current incarnation of the remake, it’s been supposedly coming out “this year” for several years now. You can’t really fault people for feeling burned.
